Q: What is going on? A: According to Japanese blogger Nobuyuki Hayashi, the annoying shutter sound of the Japanese-bound iPhone 3G cannot be switched off, even in silent mode. Q: Why? A: Because perverts cannot be trusted not to shove their phones up some women skirt and snap a picture. So big is the problem of under-skirt photography that almost no Japanese phones can have the shutter sound disabled. We're guessing that the shutter clicks are not loud enough to be heard on Tokyo's busy subway. It's the first country-specific change to the iPhone ever. Can anyone with a 'Japanese' iPhone 3G confirm this functionality tweak? I hope this post will not bring the rest of the world with idea's with the 3G in silence mode:-)
