Two iPhone 3G keyboard tips. The first is not a completely new iPhone tip, but it is new for iPhone 3G newcomers and in my opinion a very practical one: In Safari web browser, in the website URL field, you can now hold down the .com button to get a selection of other domain name endings for your url: .net .edu and .org. By tapping on one of the endings, it will append it to complete your URL. For original jailbroken iPhone (1.0) owners, this function was already available via language packs installed from Installer or Cydia. Another new keyboard trick is that you should also get .net .edu or .org domain name endings along with .com by holding down the period (.) button in the compose email screen. I did not discover this function in on my iPhone 1.0. Overal, these are neat features to refine the keyboard for easy usage. [picture shows a jailbroken iPhone 1.4 with dutch language pack]
Nice tips thanks.
ReplyDeleteDevelopment question, that little lower case i button in some apps that opens settings. How do you create/enable/ and use it. What is it even called?
