Q:What is up? A: A German fellow blogger '
Heise' ordered a fake iPhone 3G from a Chinese company and posted this adventure on his site Q: How similar are the fakes compared to the real thing? A: Very similar at the first sight. But when you look closer, there are major differences.[
picture serie] Q: Like what? A: Like the package, "Phone" in stead of "iPhone"[pic2]. Also the connectors are completely different. A nice feature on the fake is that you can insert two SIM-cards! [pic7 and pic8] and the fruity logo [pic10] Q: How much and where can I get it? A: An Phone 3G 16 Gbyte will cost you US $265, shipping to germany is included. If you really want to know where to get it, then check at
Heise's blog Q: The blog is in German! what is the conclusion of this fake iPhone? A: Simple, don't even think about it and just don't buy this crap, buy the real thing from Steve. Why? Because of this:
- It is NOT an iPhone 3G or even an iPhone 1st gen
- No multitouch screen but a oldschool stylus-required screen
- Unusable web browser
- No UMTS but GPRS (not even Edge)
- etc etc much more things missing
