"Newspapers in iPhone App form" are just great! Months ago I installed the USA Today app [App Store link] and the New York Times app[App Store link]. Q: Why am I installing these apps? A: Because I want to keep track of the daily news. The funny thing is that both apps mentioned above has made it to my Home screen! Of course the Bloomberg app [App Store link] is there too so I could keep track of the stock exchanges in near realtime. Q: Why it has made it to my home screen? A: Actually, just to verify things what I read on Twitter! Tweetie [App Store link] has even made it to my launch bar! With my Tweetie app, I can lookup Trends and find out what is happening right now in the world and follow eyewitnesses tweets. Several minutes later I can choose to check my favorite newspaper apps for verified and indepth information, or just follow the highlights of that breaking news.Today we have an addition in the App Store from the Wall Street Journal. The Wall Street Journal iPhone App [App Store link] is free and available now. I was happy to find out that its contents are available for free, same as the NY Times and USA Today by the way. First we have the text articles in company with one photo shot. But the great thing is it provides other sort content including WSJ radio and WSJ video. Text articles can be emailed right from the article. The radio audio and video segments started smoothly on WiFi. I haven't tried this on 3G yet. Please comment on this post of your findings regarding app performance. I am happy with this WSJ app and we will see if it earns a spot on my homescreen. One more thing: The format of the Advertisement banner at the bottom is annoying. See the red Oracle banner in the screen shot. I often hit the banner when I tap a button (:
