iPhone TIPS: Apple TomTom is Enhanced Navigation and More

The TomTom navigation solution, first announced at WWDC 2009, is more than just integrating turn-by-turn car navigation on your iPhone. According to TomTom's iPhone webpage it also provides:
1. "The TomTom app including the latest maps"
This is good because the app is not dependent to have an internet connection to download the maps just in tim, like in Google earth or Google Maps. The off-line maps must be pre-loaded prior navigating.
2. "the TomTom car kit that offers secure docking, enhanced GPS performance, clear voice instructions and hands-free calling, while charging your iPhone at the same time."
This is again great because you can finally put your iPhone safely on your dash while it is charging. The enhanced GPS could mean that there is a better GPS receiver / antenna built-in the dock. Like using running or cycling apps on the iPhone 3G, it is somethimes hard to get the most accurate GPS position from the satelites. When using GPS inside a car, it can be even worster to get an accurate signal neccesary to do "safe" tunr-by-turn navigation. We hope there is hightech in the TomTom dock to help get a accurate GPS signal inside any common car.
