The Big Bezel is so useful
Yes I have seen the bezel. Some people say its huge. But hey, if the bezel is small, where must I put my fingers to hold the iPad.
Keep Things Simple, don't allow Multitasking
People want a 'super' easy to use device. Using more than one app at the time make things confusing, especially for the non-geeks. And we have iTunes to play our music. And we get notifications when someone Skype's me. And please no distractions when I am reading my ebook from iBook.
Why should I need a camera built-in?
I have a camera on my iMac, but I never use it as a cam. Why? because mostly (like 99% of the time) I just want to say things to the other. That can done be via a phone, an iPhone ;) call or via text chat. They don't need to see me when I talk to them. I don't need to see them!
Touch keyboard stands for fast typing.
Do you know that I can type faster on my iPhone than on my Mac? That is because the touch keyboard is smart and learns from my errors. It will adapt and ajust while I type better and faster.
iPad IS your TV
You don't need HDMI Out to connect to a TV screen because you have TV screen already in your hands.
The name iPad is a smart choice.
The more jokes, the more we talk about the iPad, the better the sales for Apple.
No Flash support saves battery life
I don't want to see any flashy Flash ads while browsing the New York Times.

Yes, things can't be perfect the first time. But hey, they are there- all the necessary plugs connectors, fully functional and included in that low price from $499.

Bezel: Seriously, in the godsend device from Apple the bezel-feature raises to your top-8 great points? The list doesn't start promisingly for the device.
ReplyDeleteMultitasking: Confusing for non-geeks? Maybe if they have never used a modern thingamajingy like PC or Mac. It's not confusing at all after like 5 minutes. The thing is that Apple fucked up the design because the first iPhone version didn't have 3rd party apps and they probably didn't even think about multitasking. Later it became much harder to wire in.
Also, maybe iTunes is enough for you. There are, however, plenty of users who would also like to listen to an internet radio app or spotify while webbrowsing. Ability to do so is my #1 reason to run jailbroken.
Camera: Agree with you here. This device is for media consumption, not creation.
Keyboard: Well it's kind of hard to add a physical keyboard to a tablet... Also, if you write faster with iPhone than Mac, you really need to learn to typewrite or buy a better keyboard. Besides, at least the iPhone's error correction is horrible with my language (Finnish)!
iPad IS your TV: Well DUH. I suppose you will be having a nice time with your family all gathered around you to watch the movie from the tablet.
The name: A great thing about a gadget is it's name which tells that there are no women working at Apple and they have not even bothered to check the actual availability of the name (google fujitsu ipad)?
No Flash support saves battery life: With smart browsers you can actually disable flash if needed. The rest of us would like to continue using the web just like with our laptops and desktops...
Adapters, Adapters, Adapters: Again, you're saying that the great thing about this device is that it will be able to do cool things in the future once you open your wallet a little more. A truly amazing feature, I say!

I want make clear that I was not talking about the keyboards (stupid) word correcting feature but the other GREAT 'hidden' iPhone keyboard feature that reduces the number of mistakes you make as you type by intelligently and dynamically resizing the touch zones for certain keys. You can’t see this technology at work, but your iPhone is increasing the zones for keys it predicts might come next and decreasing the zones for keys that are unlikely or impossible to come next.

The ipad is cool, but that doesn't mean it hasn't any bad points.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it would be much better if it supported multitasking, Flash and Java! Additionally the iPhone os in NOT good for the ipad and there should have been sth new. Having iPhone apps either to Small or Big with Bad quality is Not really the Thing I would have expected from apple!
