IPhone TIPS: Find Golfcourses Location Based app

Netherlands edition - Nice golfcourse but am I qualified to play here? That's a good question if you love to play golf. For people who lives in-or have plans to visit and play golf in the Netherlands there is good news. An app called Golfcourses [$1,99 App Store] has just hit the app store this week. The funny thing is, the idea to create this app is from a friend of mine, Willem from golfivents, and golf is one of his greatest passions. When you start the app, it will list the nearest golfcourses. Pick one course you like and it will tell you if you are qualified to play as a guest. There are many golfcourses in the world where the "weekends" are members only. Also it tells you how much the greenfee charge is. Rates varies from 20 - 120 euro's. hmm Helmond GC weekend fee is very low:) Some neat features are google maps and a phone links - tap the phone number and it wil call reservations. No, you can not do reservations directly from this app. But maybe the next version? we asked Willem:

Q: Who should buy this app and what is the main goal of this app?

A: Well, everyone who is a golfer and is playing, or going to play, in the Netherlands, should buy this app. Main goal of the App is that you have a quick overview of any golf course in the Netherlands, in the area, or around your present location.

Q: What is the coolest feature?

A: I would have to say the view on state level next to the ability to filter out 9 hole courses.

Q: How much time did it took from idea to app and what was the hardest part?

A: I came up with the idea about 2 months ago, programming took us about 2 weeks, and graphics another week. The hardest part in my opinion was to get the detailed information about the
courses.

Q: What can we expect from future versions of Golf courses? international
plans?

A: We already have an idea for the next release (v1.1) which will contain the ability to search, acoustical feedback, embedded Google maps, embedded website browsing, anything else missing? Let us know on iphone@golfivents.nl. Future release will have online reservation possibilities. Our focus is to have more countries in the App, but within Europe.
