Well there is more news today. Apple has released iWorks for iPhone and iPod [press release]. Till yesterday, Apple's counterpart of 'ms office' and 'open office' only runs on the iPads and Macs. Today iWorks, which consists of the apps Pages, Keynote and Numbers are all three available on your tiny iPhone or iPod screen. Rumor: Is there some connection between iWorks and iCloud? Could it be that you can save your iWorks files in iCloud automatically and retrieve the files from any other device connected on internet. Let say a combination of Google docs and a Dropbox interface? What do you think?

iPhone TIPS: Specifications unveiled iPhone '4S' at WWDC 2011?

Q: Lately we had posted some 'solid' rumors regarding the next 'iPhone 4S'. So what are the 'solid' rumors regarding the technical specification of this so called iPhone "4S' ? A: ITT has a wrap-up for you. Firstly the rear camera. Digitimes reports a 8-megapixel resolution model with OmniVision Technologies and Taiwan-based Largan Precision to supply image sensors and lens kits respectively. Then the chips used for the 3G and CDMA. All the 3G and CDMA chips for iPhone 4S will be supplied by Qualcomm. The rumor is that there is one model iPhone 4S that can operate in both CDMA networks like Verizon and on GSM / EDGE / UMTS / HSDPA networks like Vodafone and T-Mobile. The CPU for the improved iPhone 4 is rumored by some anonymous sources, that it uses the ARM Cortex-A9 chip as CPU. however, unclear is whether this model has single CPU core or will have a dual CPU core like the Samsung Galaxy S II. Remember, these are what we called 'solid' rumors, because the Digitimes sources are proven to be accurate in the past. iPhone TIPS: Apple Deeply Saddened After Explosion Foxconn plant

Horrible, the world of media around the globe are shouting out un-confirmed analyses of possible "delays" in iPad 2 manufacturing. Luckily, the site allthingsd has published some official statements by Apple and Foxconn. On allthingsd, a statement by Apple is quoted regarding the explosion.


“We are deeply saddened by the tragedy at Foxconn’s plant in Chengdu, and our hearts go out to the victims and their families,” Apple said in a statement provided to All Things D. “We are working closely with Foxconn to understand what caused this terrible event.”


In a later update the same post reports a Foxconn statement, confirming what has happened the 20th:


We can confirm that at approximately 7 pm on May 20, there was an explosion at our Chengdu campus. At this point, we can also confirm that there were two fatalities with injuries to 16 other employees. We are working with medical officials to provide treatment to the injured employees and we are working with government and law enforcement officials to contact the families of all employees affected by this tragedy.


The situation has been brought under control by the fire department and the cause of this explosion is being investigated by local police officials. Foxconn is cooperating fully with that investigation. Production has been suspended at the site of the explosion until the completion of the investigation. The safety of our employees is our highest priority and we will do whatever is required to determine and address the cause of this tragic accident.

" A CCTV reporter who is at the scene now said, a witness told the reporter that the explosion happened at 19:10. And, doctor said he had already received 6-7 people injured, and more injuries are coming. The reporter was told to stay away from the building, because there might be a second explosion."


“the explosion occurred in the A05, at 7 pm, the explosion caused many materials casted out from the building, and there are at least hundreds or more of workers inside the building. The whole building did not collapse yet, I do not know what is going on inside. Now there are more than 10 fire engines, 10 ambulances, many police cars.”

iPhone TIPS: 'Production iPhone 4S Starts in August'

 

The production of the iPhone 4S will start in August 2011, digitimes  reports. According to the article, sourced from Taiwan makers it explains that :
"Apple has lowered its expected shipment volume of iPhone 4 for the second quarter of 2011 from 20 million units, to 17.5-18 million units consisting of 16 million units of the 3G version and 1.5-2 million units of the CDMA version, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers."

iPhone TIPS: Uncensored Playboy iPad Web App on May 18th [NSFW]

Just picked up some interesting tweets from good old Hugh. The first tweet Hugh announces that Playboy will be available on iPad, complete and uncensored on May 18th.

But how can an uncensored Playboy app get accepted by Apple's App Store, with her very strict policies? Well maybe his next tweet exactly explains how..

That's it, Hugh simply circumvents the App Store by releasing a own website called I.playboy.com that is customized for the iPad Safari browser. NOTE: as we write this, the site is not up or running yet.

UPDATE: It is online now for signup only.

And hey, he asks $8 a month, possibly without paying Apple a penny. What do you think about this, pretty smart huh :) Let's wait and see on the 18th.
