Well on this Chinese site, the Apple logo is replaced by a Pear logo, but that logo is derived from the Apple logo. Very creative...NOT! Q: Who dares to own a Apple lookalike Pear website ? A: The lookalike portal is owned by a Chinese online game company named Giant Network (巨人网络). The company decided to use it as their official website for one of its famous online game “Zhengtu 2”. I have really no idea about this game, so I can't give you further information. Q: Can I buy Apple iPhone products like the real Apple site? A: There are concept shots of iPod, iPad, iMac, Macbook Air and some other iproducts displayed on the website, but the company does not intend to sell any of them. iPhone TIPS: When To Remove Diginotar From iOS Trusted Roots?

-by iphone-tips-tricks.com - Apple has just rolled out security update 2011-005 (Lion) and security update 2011-005 (Snow Leopard), which addresses the certificate trust policy regarding DigiNotar certificates. The update removes DigiNotar from the list of trusted root certificates, the list of Extended Validation certificate authorities and configuring the default system trust settings so DigiNotar certificates -- those issued by DigitNotar itself and other authorities -- are not trusted. So your Mac OSX machine and Safari is updated after installing this update. (Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer are in the same progress fighting this very serious internet security problem)
The question is, when does Apple sent us an iOS update to address this issue for our iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch? My guess is that Apple is working on it and will send an update it soon. Why? When we look back in April, the root authority of Comodo, also a trusted CA certificates issuing firm, had been breached, very similar to Diginotar. Apple had combined the iOS 4.3.2 update, which fixed other issues, with the blacklisting of Comodo's rougue SSL certificates. So when I am guessing right, iOS 4.3.6 will come out soon with at least the blacklisting of Diginotar rougue SSL certificates for iOS. Currently CA certificates issuing firm Globalsign has stopped (stay posted here)issuing new certificates to customers and is investigating if they are breached as well after someone (possibly the hacker of both Comodo and Diginotar) on internet pointing to the direction of Globalsign as the next victim. To give you an idea, of the list of trusted roots in iOS 4.1 see HERE. For the rest we wait and keep watching iTunes for updates to come.

iPhone TIPS: Find My iPhone helps find wreckage of Chilean plane crash

The relatives of the crash victim logged into Find My iPhone and were able to isolate the coordinates of the last known whereabouts of the plane before it crashed. That information was then given to the Navy who are using it to coordinate the rescue efforts to find the fuselage, the aircraft's main body section.
Find My iPhone is a free app and service for the iPhone and iPad to quickly locate the position of that device. The main purpose is to track back the device in case you lost it some how. The built-in GPS works nearly worldwide, however you need internet to pass the coordinates back to the Find My iPhone server.

We had in the past fake Steve Jobs the blogger in the person of Daniel Lyons, which was a lot of humor and fun, nothing serious. But what they sell in China is not really nice I guess. Fellow blogger micgadget reports that in bookstores in mainland China, Steve Jobs biographies are all over the shelves. These Chinese-language books introduce the life of Steve Jobs, how Jobs change the world. We love one of the books’ title, “Love Steve Jobs”. The book covers Jobs’s innovative philosophies, and it even mention the sickness and health of Jobs. I personally goes for the Authorized Biography which is expected to be released in November. iPhone TIPS: Pre-Order iPhone 5 Starts Today at Deutsche Telekom

Bloomberg reports: German based Deutsche Telekom AG will allow customers to reserve the next generation of Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s iPhone as of today in anticipation of supply bottlenecks for the device, spokesman Alexander von Schmettow said by phone.
The operator will hand out coupons to people who expressly request the successor model to the iPhone 4, without providing the name or release details of the device, he said.Source: Bloomberg




BGR.com reports the other story that information is leaked via Best Buy stating the iPhone 5 (or whatever name the iPhone 4 successor will get) will be shipping from around the mid of october.
